About the Foundation

Take an active role in helping us to save the devils from extinction.

You can assist us in building this Non Government Funded unique Centre in many ways including:

Skills;  Do you have specialised trade skills including Electrical and plumbing or building, carpentry skills or general labouring skills or time that you can donate to the devils?  We can use your generous assistance in building these pods. 'Many hands make light work' as the old saying goes.

Materials: Are you a company that has a product that may be useful into he construction and or fit out of the centre?  We would like to hear from you.

Land:  At present we are looking for donated locations to place devil breeding pods within approximately 15klm of Hobart.  An area of approximately 5 to 10 acres is required and this  will allow us to utilise land for this valuable project .

Corporate and Private Donations:  As with every project money is needed to bring it to fruition.  Even after generous donations of time and materials and land, we still need finance to make it all happen. You can make a tax deductible donation on the site here

We anticipate beginning the construction of this project in about September 2008 and we are arranging these details now, so if you can help contact us on  03 6239 0474 or email to mail@devilsindanger.com.au

Your help is greatly appreciated, now read all about this amazing centre.............

No Injury Quarantine Breeding Centre

This multimillion-dollar development will be directly involved in saving the Tasmanian devil from extinction.   The Devils in Danger Foundation Inc. (DIDF) allows every Tasmanian to participate in saving our iconic species.

The Devils in Danger Centre is fully funded by Tasmanian Company's that are not prepared to see the Tasmanian Devil suffer the same fate as the Tasmanian Tiger.  The Devils in Danger Foundation Inc. is listed on the Register of Environmental Organisations ands all donations over $2 or more are tax deductible.

The Devils in Danger Foundation Inc. is the only Foundation in the world specifically set up to save the Tasmanian Devil.

The Centre will be the first and only Quarantine No Injury Breeding Centre for Devils in the world offering a state of the art facility to maximise the genetics of clean captive Tasmanian Devils in Tasmania, before its too late. Previously, there has been no facility of this type anywhere, so our Project Team have implemented a unique design to complement the needs of the devils and to maximise viewing and learning opportunities for visitors to the centre.

The Devils in Danger Centre will provide an essential end game facility to the extinction of the species and will ensure that Tasmanian devils WILL be kept in Tasmania.  The Foundation will ensure that all Tasmanians will see be able to see a devils in Tasmania in perpetuity, not need to go to a mainland zoo to see.

The DIDF has been conducting NO INJURY Breeding Trials for the past three years and with the help of industry partners like Dr Hesterman from UTAS, have developed a new breeding program based of scientific fact.  The No Injury Breeding Program eliminates injury to any partner in the mating process by streamlining the mating process to mimic wild breeding as much as possible.

The next step is to have a SECURE QUARANTINE POPULATION PERMANENTLY HELD IN TASMANIA.

It is intended that the facility will be a self-funded operation.  This will be achieved through public visitation to some sections of the facility.  A Cafe for patrons will be located in the main entry building and will be accessible for all visitors, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.

Unlike current wildlife parks and zoos. The Devils in Danger Centre is 100% community owned (DIDF Inc.)  Profits from the organisations at not siphoned into private organisations pockets.  Every cent donated or earned by DIDF will be put back into the Tasmanian devil in Tasmania, primarily ensuring a permanent quarantine population of devils in Tasmania.

The Foundation will be setting new standards of care for our Tasmanian icon and this centre will operate as an Educational and training facility for organisations and individuals who wish to improve their understanding of our unique animal.

We look forward to your public support of this exciting new project to save the Tasmanian devil from Extinction.
