What is the money used for?

One of the projects at this time is the New 'No Injury' Breeding Facility

AT the present moment we are raising funds for a new Breeding Facility to house our breeding devils in our "No Injury Breeding Program" for the coming years breeding season.  It is essential that the genetics of the breeding age devils in our captive population be retained and utilized to  maintain the genetic diversity for the species and this population of disease free captive devils.  This facility  must be built soon to accommodate the  devils being mated in the next season and construction must commence very soon.  You can assist be donating directly to the Foundation or by purchasing a sticker from the Devils in Danger Foundation.  The breeding facility will be equipped with the latest camera surveillance equipment to monitor the behaviour of breeding devils during their time in the facility.

Cameras

We have donated a state of the art camera, which films devils interacting and feeding in the wild, both during the day and at night, and is movement activated.  This camera was presented to the Department on 25.10.05.  This special piece of equipment will allow filming of devils in the wild to monitor the spread of the disease. Our campaign Devils in Danger is donating this camera to the Devil Taskforce , run by Nature conservation Branch in Tasmania, to help their research into the devil disease.  This camera is the only one of its type in use in Australia,  giving the Devil Taskforce a real breakthrough in the technology being applied to this horrific problem.

Every cent donated in used directly on the devils welfare and the breeding program and research being carried out to help save this species.
